About the Album

The journey of Without Mind begins in liminal spaces, inviting listeners to step beyond thought and into pure sonic experience. This album emerged from a deeply experimental writing process—an improvised soundtrack for ketamine-assisted therapy sessions that evolved into something greater. Built on eurorack modular synthesis and the rich textures of a Moog Matriarch and Minimoog, the music unfolds like an organic current, shimmering with psychedelic hues and evocative of astral voyages.

At its heart, Without Mind is an invitation to lean in—to close your eyes, put on headphones, and let the soundscapes transport you. This is not background music. It’s a portal to introspection, self-discovery, and uncharted mental landscapes. Inspired by ambient pioneers like Brian Eno, this album seeks to transform perception, reframing the familiar in unexpected and profound ways. Whether in the stillness of a quiet room or the movement of a bustling city, this is music for journeying—through the self, through time, through space.

This record bears the imprint of transition. Begun in an old home studio and completed in a new creative sanctuary, these tracks echo the shifting landscapes—both internal and external—that shaped them. The result is an album that feels like travel, a meditation on movement, change, and presence.

Without Mind represents my most refined and intentional work to date. Every detail, from the intricate sound design to the fluidity of its improvisational core, was crafted with care. In the past, I may have hesitated to ask listeners to focus deeply on the music—but this time, I encourage it. This is not passive listening—it’s a soundtrack for your life. Allow it to shape your moments, to become a companion to your thoughts, to guide you inward.

Each listen to Without Mind will reveal something new, shaped by the moment in which it’s experienced. In morning light, it may feel expansive and meditative. At night, it may evoke mystery and reflection. Try opening a window as you listen—let the passing world mix with the sound, much like Hiroshi Yoshimura’s Surround encourages. The interplay between recorded and real-time sound creates a dynamic experience, blurring the lines between art and life.

Whether you’re sitting still with closed eyes or moving through a crowded street, Without Mind offers a lens through which to reimagine the world around you. It’s a reminder that the ordinary can become extraordinary, that the expected can dissolve into the surreal. This is music for the unexpected—a sonic odyssey inviting you to explore what lies beyond the veil of the everyday. Lean in, let go, and see where it takes you.
