dream 1 (before the wind blows it all away)

To mark the 10-year anniversary of Max Richter’s Sleep, Benjamin Tennikoff and I (Six Missing) reimagined the movement “Dream 1” through our own ambient lens — warm, analog, and quietly expansive.

Built with vintage synths, tape echoes, cassette recorders, and layered textures (including the Korg PS-3100), we set out to create a new space for this composition to breathe — one that honors its stillness while exploring new emotional terrain.

We’ve included both a full 19-minute version and a shorter faded edit.
The accompanying video was filmed in Austin, TX and serves as a visual meditation on memory, sleep, and letting go.

The cover artwork reflects the moon as it appeared on the night Sleep was first released — September 4, 2015.
